Bangalore Hosur Satellite Town Ring Road Map - STRR Map

The Bangalore-Hosur STRR (Satellite Town Ring Road) is a major infrastructure project spanning 288 km, with construction having commenced in 2020. As of March 2024, 80 km of the STRR has been inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and opened for public use. The STRR is a 4- to 6-lane highway/expressway designed to improve regional connectivity around Bangalore and facilitate decongestion of urban traffic. The project is being developed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and is fully funded by the Central Government under the Bharatmala Pariyojana initiative. This is one of India's most strategically planned road projects, and the first of its kind in terms of scale and economic impact. It is expected to significantly boost Bangalore's economy, with increasing interest from domestic and international investors seeking to establish their operations in the satellite towns around the city. The project is targeted for completion by 2025.

SATELLITE TOWNS OF BANGALORE & HOSUR

The Bangalore-Hosur Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR) is primarily intended to connect emerging towns and provide the necessary infrastructure to develop them as satellite or industrial hubs. The STRR is being planned to offer direct or diagonal connectivity to 12 satellite towns around Bangalore - Dobbasapete, Doddaballapura, Devanahalli, Sulibele, Hoskote, Sarjapura, Attibele, Anekal, Tattekere, Kanakapura, Ramanagara, and Magadi; and 3 satellite towns near Hosur - Denkanikottai, Rayakottai, and Shoolagiri. Another major objective of the STRR is to integrate major national highways from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala into a unified corridor, allowing highway traffic to bypass the congested urban centers of both Bangalore and Hosur (often referred to as Bangalore's twin city). BENGALURU (BANGALORE) STRR BUDGET

With a proposed budget of Rs 17,000 crore, the Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR) will span 243 km on the Bangalore side and 45 km on the Hosur side. A total of 11 helipads are planned - 8 in the Bangalore region and 3 in the Hosur region. Additionally, the project includes 4 air drone/taxi pads, with 3 located near Bangalore and 1 near Hosur, to support future urban air mobility infrastructure.
