BENGALURU (Bangalore) CIRCULAR RAIL LINK PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Vande Metro proposes a 287-kilometer circular rail network that will connect Bangalore with its surrounding towns and suburban areas. The circular alignment includes key junctions such as Nidavanda, Doddaballapur, Devanahalli, Malur, Heelalige, Solur, and loops back to Nidavanda. The goal is not only to facilitate intra-city connectivity but also to integrate neighboring cities and satellite towns-such as Tumakuru and Hindupur-into the larger Bangalore Metropolitan Region.
This strategic expansion will foster smoother daily commuting, reduce travel time, and support economic and infrastructural development across urban and rural zones. The network is aimed at decentralizing urban pressure by allowing people to live outside Bangalore's congested core while maintaining strong transit connections.
